The Center joined more than 140 businesses, non-profits, and former leaders from the government and the U.S. military in sending President Obama and Congressional leaders an open letter urging them to “make modernization of our foreign assistance programs a priority… [and] make global development a co-equal pillar of U.S. foreign policy alongside defense and diplomacy.”
The open letter was developed by the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN), which includes the Center, and published as an advertisement in the Politico newspaper. It was released earlier this week to show President Obama, his advisors, and Members of Congress that strong bipartisan support from a diverse array of leaders and organizations exists for their unprecedented efforts to elevate global development. Sign the letter at www.modernizingforeignassistance.net and download a “badge” to post on their social networking profiles, blogs, and personal websites to show support and spread the word.
